Carolinabirds Subscriber Demographics

Can you believe it? Carolinabirds was created 8 years ago today -- on  
Friday, 13 December 1996.  The initial announcement I sent out about 
the group is preserved in the Birdchat archives.

Here's my annual summary of our subscribers:

North Carolina's percentage is at a record low 64.4% and South 
Carolina's is higher than ever at 22.3%).  The Research Triangle area's 
overrepresentation (25%) is the lowest it's ever been, down from last 
year's 26%.  

Breakdown by sex (estimated from names):

227	female (37.5%)

This is close to what the ratio has been since the beginning.
