The Website and Which Side It Supports
Why It is Biased
1. CivilRights.org
Pro Same Sex Marriage
This website attempts to present an unbiased view on giving civil rights to all Americans. However, by doing this, it does not cover the side that supports solely traditional marriage. The site only sees its own argument, that all civil rights should be guaranteed to all, including the right to same-sex marriage.
2. Gay Financial Network
Pro Same Sex Marriage
This website, created for gay people and gay couples, is therefore biased in that it only shows the side that supports same-sex marriage. There is no clear representation of why the other side, which does not believe that same-sex marriage is okay, believes what it does.
3.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center

Pro Same Sex Marriage
This website is dedicated to the "liberation" of gay people and lesbians. It is biased towards this segment of people in society and does not address the meaning of the other argument at all. It simply argues for the rights of the homosexual, and does not even attempt to see the view of the traditional right.

These sites are not very useful because...

One of the most important questions to ask when searching through the information on websites on the internet is, "Can I trust this site?" Does it contain bias?

Some sites can be inflammatory and persuasive, yet may also contain bias towards one side of an argument.

This page attempts to point out the bias in some sites on the internet that either promote or deny the right to same-sex marriage.

BUT ALSO,
The Website and Which Side It Supports
Why It is Biased
1. Family.org
Pro Traditional Marriage
This site has "focus on the family" and attempts to bring that across in its articles, one particularly biased talks about and praises the new book Marriage Under Fire. This book talks about how marriage is under attack by people who support gay marriage. It does not bring up the other side of the argument, why gay marriage is supported in the first place.
2. Sanctity of Marriage.ca
Pro Traditional Marriage
This website also focuses on the family but it is from Canada. It proclaims that the issue of same sex marriage is "black and white" and gives "an opportunity to shape our Canada" by protecting it against same-sex marriage. This website does not show the other side of the argument, that supports same sex marriage.
3. The Family Research Institute
Pro Traditional Marriage
I think that this website is even more dangerous than other websites on the internet because it claims to have scientific research on its website. However, its so-called scientific research is all biased towards one side. Scientific research can be very swaying because people tend to believe in science if data and statistics are thrown at them. Beware of this website. Its statistics may be fooling you.
