  1. Table arranged approximately by application due date. Deadlines fluctuate from year-to-year so the table might be slightly out of order.
  2. Every effort is made to update the deadlines as we receive information from the scholarship source. This column indicates the academic year (AY) for which the information in the corresponding row is accurate--to the best of our knowledge.
  3. Eligibility (current status)
    1. 1=freshman, 2=sophomore, 3=junior, 4=senior, G=1st year graduate student, G+=2nd or more years as a graduate student, G!=MS or PhD to be awarded in current academic year.
    2. The above code refers to your status is in the current academic year with scholarship funds generally applied to the following academic year. Thus, scholarships for which seniors (4) are eligible generally provide funds for graduate school.
  4. Dr. Nadeau's contact information: 117D Hudson Hall, 660-5216, nadeau@duke.edu
  5. Join ASCE!
  6. Indicates the yearly frequency with which the scholarship(s) is(are) offered. Often a scholarship has multiple recipients in a given year.
  7. Duration of the scholarship or fellowship in years.
  8. The dollar amount given is the award per year. A preceeding + to the amount indicates that a greater award is possible; generally, these opportunities have multiple recipients with the best overall recipient receiving greater funds. A preceeding - indicates that up to the given amout will be awarded--the actual amount is thus likely dependent on the number of reciepents the funding agency wishes to support for the given year.
  9. For additional, though generally not comprehensive, information see the "Scholarship" clipboard on the ASCE bulletin board outside Dr. Nadeau's office, 117D Hudson Hall. For the most complete information see Dr. Nadeau [4] personally.
