The validity and initial appearance of the Visual Jabberwocky Argument Generating Machine is not only convincing but extremely creative and original. The organized appearance of the device is deceiving because at first sight, the creation looks plausible and ingenious considering the many colors, shapes, logical phrases, and extensive, detailed explanations that it is fabricated with.
There is one very important aspect that was overlooked by the creator; there is a significant difference between the Carroll syllogism and the Venn diagram. The creator of the V (J) AMM device explicitly states that both forms of visual representation are forms of "Symbolic logic," which is true, with the exception that syllogisms and Venn diagrams are used to explain very different approaches to symbolic logic.
While the Venn diagram is used to compare one concept to another concept and to explain their shared similarities in the shared part of the circles; Venn diagrams usually represent very unambiguous subject matter. Carroll's syllogisms are used to put sentences into a solidified form; the syllogisms put often times ambiguous statements into short, algebraic expressions. The fault in this device lies in the heart of not being able to translate Venn to Carroll and vice versa. Considering the audio effects that are connected with each visual, I believe that they are purely for aesthetics and are tools to attract the interest of the viewers. Therefore, while the idea of the VJAMM creation is quite attractive and unique, it cannot be taken seriously in light of one major problem; Venn logic and Carroll logic cannot be transferred from one to another.
