Qualifications for Both Summer and Spring Programs
- Students are required to have had at least one year of Mandarin Chinese
before beginning the Duke Study in China Program.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at
the time of their participation in the program.
- Students are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Students are required to have a grade of B- or above in all Chinese language
classes prior to entering the Program.
- An applicant must have a complete application to be considered for acceptance.
A complete application includes a letter of reference from a Chinese instructor
and another letter of reference from a professor/teacher who teaches a course
other than foreign language.
- Because the Duke Study in China Program is intensive, we look for applicants
who are serious about learning Chinese and learning about China.
