Free EUS Slide Atlas & Reading List
A slide atlas of EUS images and a list of authoritative publications on various EUS related topics has been put together by members of the American Endosonography Club (AEC). Dr. Jacques Van Dam along with numerous others contributed to this binder which is available for free. Glaxo will send a copy to those who call 1-800-824-2896 and ask for publication # GVL-317.

EUS Training/ Observation
Many Institutions offer hands-on EUS training and or the opportunity to observe live EUS exams. The following is a list of institutions and/or individuals who have made an announcement about their EUS program on the AEC EUS e-mail system.

The AEC is not in the business of certifying EUS training programs. Therefore anyone who is interested in a program below should contact the person listed and judge for themselves whether or not the experience will meet their needs.

1. MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA - Offers an opportunity to view EUS exams with an emphasis on pancreatic disorders. Contact Rob Hawes M.D. at (803) 792-6864 for more information.

2. UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AT IRVINE - Offers a year long fellowship program with an emphasis on EUS guided fine needle aspirate techniques. Contact Ken Chang M.D. at (714) 456-8440 for more information.

3. INDIANA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER - Offers workshops which are designed for both beginning and advanced endosonographers. Linear array and radial scanning instruments are used. Frank Gress M.D. is director. Contact Chris Lambert at (317)-274-0912 for more information.

4. Dr. Gilles Amouyal states that he directs an EUS unit in Paris France and offers hands-on training. He requests that you send him e-mail to get more information if you are interested. (gilar@imaginet.fr)

5. DUKE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER - Offers hands-on training to interested Duke GI fellows as well as the opportunity for MDs outside the medical center to observe EUS exams. Contact John Affronti M.D. at (919) 684-3657 for more information.
