Green Building Committee

Students on this committee work with the university architect, facilities management staff and construction contractors to incorporate green building standards into new buildings and renovation projects. Besides helping make the 7 new buildings planned for campus environmentally friendly, participants in this group are exposed to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards (LEEDs). This rating system developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) is driving the US building industry towards more sustainable practices.

The Green Building Committee has its own mailing list: greening-b@duke.edu
