Both a message board (more information about the message board) and a listserv have been created for members of the university community to exchange information and ideas about Hurricane Katrina relief. Neither the board nor the list are moderated.

In addition, any Duke students, faculty and staff planning fund-raisers, please submit program descriptions including contact information and sponsoring organization if relevant to the Office of Student Activities and Facilities (osaf@studentaffairs.duke.edu) for posting on the OSAF Hurricane Relief Efforts database. Please note "Katrina post" in the subject line.

Students organize two major events this week to help victims of Hurricane Katrina

The Red Cross Back-to-Campus Blood Drive will be held Sept. 13-15 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Von Canon rooms of the Bryan Center. There will be free T-shirts, snacks, and more for donors.

The Law School will have its "Stuff the Truck" drive in front of the Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most desirable items include inflatable mattresses (high priority), clothing (especially for children up to 2 years old), socks and shoes of all sizes, sheets, blankets and pillows, children's books, bottled water and non-perishable food.
