The Spring Fling is an event hosted by the Duke Battalion every Spring semester in March or April to celebrate our common service and the forthcoming commissioning of the seniors in the battalion to Ensigns in the Navy or Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps. It is a more informal setting than the annual Fall Ball, and it provides the opportunity for the Battalion to look back on the past year. Not attended in uniform, the casual setting allows for the members of the Battalion to relax and enjoy the food provided on the dime of the Navy. There is often a short video or slide show of Battalion pictures from the past year to recognize our achievements and to recall the memories made.
