Surface Warfare Officer, Duke University

The Surface Warefare Officer attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, on a Naval ROTC scholarship and graduated with a B.A. in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs. She was commissioned in December, 2003.

Her first assignment was to the Plankowner crew of USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) where she served as First Lieutenant, Fire Control Assistant and Auxiliaries Officer. USS CHUNG-HOON deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Prior to transferring, she participated in an Individual Augment to Korea for a joint force exercise with the South Korean military. Her second tour was with Commander Destroyer Squadron FIVE ZERO, a forward based staff in Manama, Bahrain. There she served as Assistant Operations Officer, organizing and assisting multiple joint and multi-lateral exercises and serving seven months in Iraqi coastal waters performing Critical Infrastructure Protection and coastal defense.

The Surface Warfare officer reported to Duke University in November, 2007. She is Sophomore Advisor for the NROTC Battalion and teaches Navigation and Naval Operations and Seamanship.
