Executive Officer, North Carolina Piedmont Consortium The Executive Officer entered the Marine Corps in 1989 after graduating from the University of Virginia. Following The Basic School, he reported to Landing Force Training Command, Atlantic for Basic Officer's Logistics Course, where he earned his initial Logistics MOS. He reported to 1 st Battalion, 5 th Marines as the S-4A and Embarkation Officer in 1990. He served with this unit through a deployment to Panama, Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and a rotation to Okinawa. In 1993, The Executive Officer graduated with honors from MAGTF Intelligence Officers' course in Dam Neck, Virginia and returned to the 1 st Marine Division where he served as the S-2 for 1 st Battalion, 4 th Marines during a WESTPAC deployment with 15 th MEU(SOC). He then served as the S-2 for the 1 st Marine Regiment and subsequently as the S-2 for the 11 th Marine Regiment. The Executive Officer was selected for USMC Command and Control Systems Course in 1996 and finished as an honor graduate in 1997. After a temporary assignment to Joint Special Operations Command, he was transferred to the United States Central Command in Tampa, Florida. During his three-year tour in Tampa, he served as the Chief of the Horn of Africa Intelligence Assessments team and as the lead briefer for the Commander in Chief. The Executive Officer reported to the 2 nd FSSG as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence in the summer of 2000. During his three-year tour, he served as the Director of Intelligence (J-2) for Joint Task Force 160 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and as the G-2 for the Marine Logistics Command during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2003, the Executive Officer reported to the Joint Special Operations Command, where he worked in the Operations Directorate. While in this billet, he served in combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2006, The Executive Officer reported to his current assignment as the executive officer for the North Carolina Piedmont Consortium. The Executive Officer holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, and his personal decorations include: Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, The Joint Service Commendation Medal (two oak clusters), The Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (gold star and combat V device), the Joint Service Achievement Medal (oak cluster), and the Combat Action Ribbon. |
