The Duke Center for Philosophy of Biology announces its 7th annual conference in Philosophy & Biology entitled
Cooperative Alliances in the History of Life: Aggregation, Individuation, and the Major Evolutionary Transitions

The conference will take place April 11th-13th, 2008 at Duke University in Durham, NC. The purpose of the conference is to explore the common genetic, developmental, and ecological factors associated with the origins of complex individuality at all levels of the biological hierarchy, particularly in relation to the major evolutionary transitions.

The conference will be held in the French Family Science Center on West Campus, Room 2231

The keynote speakers include:
Todd Grantham
Samir Okasha
Joan Strassmann
