Health System Security
The Duke University Police Department helps maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the Health System. Police and security officers at Duke University Hospital and Durham Regional Hospital provide around-the-clock security and respond to calls for assistance from staff, faculty, students, patients and visitors. In addition to responding to emergency requests, services include:
- escorts to parking lots and other Duke properties
- minor vehicle assistance
- lost and found items

Duke University Hospital
The Duke Police Department has satellite offices at Duke North and Duke South. Duke’s Medical Center Van Service provides free transportation 24 hours daily to Duke employees for trips between Duke University Hospital and some Duke research and medical facilities, including parking lots. Durham Regional Hospital
The Hospital security office is in the Emergency Department, adjacent to the Ambulance Bay Entrance.
Emergency: Dial 9-1-1 or 2-2-2 from a hospital phone.
