Did You Know?
Duke has an agreement with the City of Durham that allows Duke police officers to patrol in neighborhoods surrounding campus and enforce the law.
Police and security officers with the Duke University Police Department provide 24-hour patrols of campus, including academic areas, medical and research facilities and satellite offices. Police and security officers patrol on foot, bike and vehicle.
The patrol unit consists of four squads of officers, who respond to service calls on campus. Their regular coverage areas may be adjusted from time to time to address safety needs.
