Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (also known as Il Duomo) is located in Florence, Italy. The structure was begun by designer Arnolfo di Cambio in 1296 and it's construction spanned the next 600 years to the completion of its facade in 1887 by Emilio de Fabris.
