No matter what your relation to the University, whether it be as a student, faculty, staff, alumnus or Durham resident, we want you to get involved in greening Duke. There are plenty of avenues for you to get your feet wet first or plunge right in.
Step 1 - Do
- Take the Duke Sustainability Pledge!
Make your contribution to greening Duke. Sign the pledge and be a part of Duke's vision for a sustainable future.
- Join a Sustainability Initiative
- Stakeholder committees: Ad Hoc Green Dining Committee; Green Labs Committee
- Undergraduate students: Join the Environmental Alliance
- Faculty or staff members: Join the Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC)
- Graduate or Professional students: Join the Duke University Greening Initiative
- Alumni: There are great opportunities for alumni to plug into campus greening initiatives either as mentors, volunteers, sponsors or contributors. Contact Duke's Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to find a good match for your particular interests.
- Durham, Triangle or NC residents interested in Duke's sustainability initiatives: Duke constantly seeks the input and involvement of the Durham, Triangle and North Carolina community in all of its initiatives. There are many partnerships and town-gown projects that you can plug into, or you can start something new. Contact Duke's Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to share your interests and get plugged in.
