Graduate Teaching Assistants The allocation of TAs is determined at the department level. Contact your department chair for additional information. Funding of graduate student TA lines and assignment of graduate student TAs to courses are determined by the Graduate School, chairs/program directors, and directors of graduate studies (DGS). Faculty members who anticipate needing a graduate student TA for a planned course should consult with their chair and DGS. Guidelines and policies regarding the use of graduate
student teaching assistants and best practices for their professional
development are provided here. Undergraduate Teaching Assistants The allocation of UTAs is determined at the department level. Contact your department chair for additional information. Instructional opportunities for qualified
and interested undergraduates are occasionally available in certain
courses offered by departments and programs in Arts & Sciences.
Faculty members who anticipate needing undergraduate teaching assistants
(UTAs) for a particular course should consult with their department
or program's DUS. Departments and programs that employ students as
UTAs are required to submit an annual plan to the Dean of Trinity
College that addresses each of the best practices and policies outlined
in the UTA
guidelines developed by Trinity College. |
