Using Blackboard

Blackboard is an easy-to-use Web-based course management system featuring a point-and-click interface and requiring only a Web browser to use. The features of Blackboard include tools for posting a class syllabus, assignments, documents and links; threaded discussions; email capabilities; electronic file exchange; chat room and whiteboard; group pages features for student team projects; online quizzes, surveys and grade book; calendar; statistical information on student activity; and much more!

Integrating Technology in Your Course

  • The Center for Instructional Technology staff can provide examples of successful instructional technology projects and advice on project planning and evaluation strategies.
  • The Center for Instructional Technology offers various funding programs and support services to help faculty with projects that use technology to enhance teaching and enrich the student educational experience.
  • Technology training for your students. Technology training staff offers a variety of training options for Duke students. Faculty may request customized training for their classes.
