History: Formed circa 1972, and known variously as the Organization of Bi-weekly Employees, the Non- Professional Staff Council, Council of the Supporting Staff, Association of the Supporting Staff until ca. 1978 when the name Support Staff Council came into use. The organization's primary purpose is to establish and/or improve lines of communication between the non-professional staff of the library and the Library and University administrations.
