History: Women faculty began meeting in a caucus in 1975. A formal organizational plan was drawn up and approved in March of 1979. Originally, the Network was concerned with issues surrounding "the recruitment, retention, and treatment of faculty women." Its focus expanded to include matters of sexual harassment, salary equity, the dual responsibilities of work and family, and other matters. In the early 1980's, the Network separated into divisions for faculty and for staff and administrators; members of the Network also assisted in setting up a network for graduate and professional women students.Contents: Correspondence, memoranda, committee minutes, flyers, reports, clippings, and other materials from the faculty (Committee A) and the staff/administrative (Committee B) divisions of the network. Subjects include parenting leave, tenure, recruitment, and hiring, salary equity, sexual harassment, and TIAA-CREF matters.
