Student Technology Support Initiatives (version 1.0, 12/12/2001)

The CITIE initiative will integrate the use of technology into the pedagogical, research and social environments of Duke students. The initiative will also enhance and increase the value of a Duke education by providing students with the technological, research, and collaborative skills necessary in today’s workplace.

Student Technology Training Program (version 1.0, 5/2001)

Technology has become a central ingredient in the life of a Duke student. This can be seen in the implementation of BlackBoard and SISS, as well as the creation of academic programs developed to prepare students for an increasingly digital future. OIT is partnering with groups such as the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT), the Center for Teaching Learning and Writing (CTLW), Arts and Sciences, and student development organizations to identify the technology needs and to implement services and support accordingly.

Student Technology Support Model (version 1.0, 9/17/2001)

Key to the success of the CITIE initiative is creating and implementing a strong student technology support model, this model must provide enough flexibility to handle the changes that frequently occur in such a technology-rich environment. This paper outlines the current student technology support process, key areas for increased support, and the recommended student technology support model.
