Kathleen Krull
Kathleen Krull graduated from The State University of New York College at
Fredonia with Bachelor of Music Degrees in Music Education and Viola
Performance. She also received her Master of Liberal Studies with a
Concentration in Arts Education from Stonybrook University on Long Island, NY.
While studying at SUNY Fredonia, Mrs. Krull was under the tutelage of Valerie
Heywood, Principal Violist of the Buffalo Philharmonic.
Mrs. Krull was honored to have the opportunity to work one on one with Roberta
Guaspari, the founder and teacher of the Harlem Violin Program, on which the
movie "Music of the Heart" was based. She spent 6 years as an Elementary
Orchestra Teacher in the East Islip School District in NY, while also
performing with the Massapequa Philharmonic and maintaining a strong private
studio of violin and viola students.
Mrs. Krull joined DUSS when she and her family moved to North
Carolina in August 2004. She is currently a teacher of violin, viola and
chamber music, as well as the assistant conductor of Intermediate II and the
principal violist of the Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra.
