Clean Energy Durham Seeking "Super Trainers"
Energy Conservation Super Trainer Positions
Earth Month is an exciting time for area non-profit Clean Energy Durham. The group has been working in neighborhoods throughout Durham since 2005 to promote cleaner and safer energy by creating 'organizations of neighbors helping neighbors save energy.'
Clean Energy Durham recently announced a new volunteer initiative that would train "Super Trainers" to organize neighbors for energy independence and is currently seeking volunteers interested in serving in the inaugural corps of trainers. The volunteers would share simple, do-it-yourself home energy-saving projects with neighbors and work to build a coalition of energy conserving households throughout the area.
Clean Energy Durham is providing a total of 15 hours of Super Trainer training on three Saturdays in May and June. The Super Trainer trainees must be able to attend all three sessions. In return for this free training, Super Trainers agree to conduct at least 5 three-hour, in-home, hands-on workshops for neighborhood energy committees working with Clean Energy Durham.
Applications are due April 25, 2009. To download an application, click here.
