At the conclusion of the internship, each MAT student submits a Master's portfolio. The portfolio demonstrates development over time and is therefore produced over the course of the internship. It forms the basis for the final examination and recommendation for degree.
Portfolios are accepted only in electronic format. MAT administration, faculty, and staff and the staff of Duke's Center for Instructional Technology provide training in technology so that MAT students are able to convert portfolio items into web-based media or into CD-ROM format. The skills learned while creating the electronic portfolio provide a strong foundation in instructional technology as well.
