
The Duke Master of Arts in Teaching program is pleased to announce the recipients of two Robert Noyce Supplemental Salary Awards.
Tara Blalock and Beth Jarvis, graduates of the MAT Class of 2009 will each receive $10,000 annually for the next four years as they teach in high needs public school districts. Both teachers had been awarded full tuition fellowhips as "Robert Noyce Fellows at Duke" as graduate students in the MAT Program. Ms. Blalock is teaching chemistry and physical science at West Johnson High School in Benson, NC and Ms. Jarvis is a mathematics teacher at Green Hope High School in Cary, NC.
We are delighted that Duke was awarded this grant so that we may reward our graduates' success, dedication and commitment and look forward to the fulfillment of their potential impact on their students.
