Strong Points:
- Immersion, intensiveness, dedication and experience of teachers, willing to help students, and not afraid to challenge students.(fall, 2006; spring, 2007)
- Very concise lectures, passionate teachers, much class discussion (speaking practice), field trips. (fall, 2006; spring, 2007)
- Tokyo is an incredible city with so much to do. The homestay was the most rewarding part of the whole trip and a fantastic experience. Also, the culture program has very interesting events and lectures, which let you get to know other participants in the program. (summer, 2006)
- The comfortable setting on the outskirts of Tokyo ensures to learn is not a problem. Cultural events and activities abound. (summer, 2004)
- Good, varied material (videos, projects, speeches, etc) (summer, 2004)
Weak Points:
- Occasionally dull lessons; mistrustful atmosphere in the class because some individuals cheated. (fall, 2006; spring, 2007)
- Not enough writing practice, some material very out-dated (video, textbook reading, articles). (fall, 2006; spring, 2007)
- The classes weren't very useful, mainly because the textbook was absolutely horrendous. The sensei were nice and cared about our progress, but they couldn't do much because the book was so bad. (summer, 2006)
- Some rules and regulations are confusing and perhaps unnecessary. Some methods of instruction and homework assignments are sparse or confusing. (summer, 2004)
- Had to move up levels after placement test. (summer, 2004)
