Guidelines for Self-Placement in Japanese Language Courses
Note: Students with prior knowledge of Japanese are recommended
to take a placement test. Your self-placement decision must be approved by
the instructor or the Japanese Language Coordinator, Prof. Hitomi
Endo, before the semester begins or on the first day of classes. ( If you took an AP Exam in Japanese Language and Culture and scored 4/5, you will receive Duke credit for JPN63. You are eligible to take JPN64 or JPN 125. Please consult the coordinator. )
