Trustee Committee on Faculty, Graduate and Professional Schools Affairs(08-08)

Trustee/Faculty Committee on Honorary Degrees (08-09)

(Subcommittee of Trustee Committee on Academic Affairs.) Recommends candidates for Honorary Degrees to the Academic Council and the Board of Trustees. These recommendations must be approved by both the Council and the Board for the degree to be granted. Faculty term: 3 years.

Trustee Committee on Building and Grounds (08-09)

Oversees major decisions having to do with the physical plant.

Trustee Committee on Business and Finance (08-09)

Examines monthly operating statements and examines and recommends approval of annual budgets for all components of the University; takes up any questions which may have financial implications, and makes recommendations to the full Board.

Trustee Committee on the Duke University Health System (08-09)

Trustee Committee on Institutional Advancement (08-09)

Committee activity suspended during Capital Campaign. Provides policy guidance to the President and the Office of Institutional Advancement and receives regular reports from that office.

Trustee/Faculty Liaison Committee (08-09)

Comprised of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Academic Council. Meets several times per year at the time of the Trustee Executive Committee meetings.  

Trustee Medical Center Affairs Committee (08-09)

Oversees Duke Hospital affairs. Recommendations to the Board for new projects usually pass also by other standing committees of the Board which share jurisdiction (especially the Business and Finance committee and the Buildings and Grounds committee). Two faculty members nominated by the ECAC, one of whom is from the Medical School faculty.
