Amnesty's Mission Statement: Amnesty International's mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of rights to physical and mental integrity; freedom of conscience and expression; and freedom from discrimination, within the context of promoting all human rights. AI is independent of any government, political ideology, or religious creed, and is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights.

At Duke: we strive to bring forward a community of students interested in changing the status quo of human rights violations happening all around the world, in which many of us are complicit through inaction.
