Education

DELTA UPSILON CHAPTER - DUKE UNIVERSITY

The Vice President of Education is responsible for teaching the chapter membership about the local chapter, AOII history and traditions, the regional and international organization, and the life long opportunities and commitment of AOII membership.

Membership education is a continuum of growth, beginning with the new member orientation, through rituals and initiation, and continuing on for a lifetime as an alumna. Informed, educated members are a vital component of our organization.

Scholarship

The Delta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi prides itself on its outstanding scholastic record. Every semester, many of our sisters are recognized for their excellent academic achievements. From being listed on the Dean's List to becoming a member of national honor societies such as Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key, and Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Upsilon sisters certainly excel academically.

Our Vice President of Academic Development rewards sisters throughout the semester with "smarty pants" awards (which means announcing the award and giving the sister some yummy treats at the chapter meeting).

This year, during our annual Rose Tribute evening, several awards are going to be given to sisters who have achieved academically in different aspects.

We have a list of sisters and their majors which makes it much easier for sisters to ask questions about classes and teachers. Additionally, we have a class and teacher evaluation that we fill out so that other sisters can get the "inside scoop."
