Sopranos


Elizabeth Axelson ('12) - Elizabeth Axelson is a proud member of the Trinity class of 2012 and loves singing Alto in SBSB. She doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life, but she's planning on being a psychology major so that she can someday truly help people. She is a member of Campus Crusade, the Wesley Fellowship and a new sister in Zeta Tau Alpha. She also tutors weekly in the inner city and is an aficionado Duke Awakening, a retreat of the Catholic Student Center. She is so grateful for all the ways that God is working in her life at Duke, and her favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11.


Jade Kessler ('14) - Jade is a freshman at Duke, hailing all the way from France! She speaks both French and German fluently. She enjoys swing dancing, skiing, horseback riding, and of course, a cappella music! She's currently working toward a major in either civil or mechanical engineering.

Jane Kim ('11) - Jane Kim is a senior in the class of 2011. She is majoring in Visual Studies and Psychology. She likes kids and is undergoing preparation to become a woman of God. She also makes wishes/prays when it's 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, 5:55, 11:11. She'd love for you to join her! F'reals.


Janice Hu ('13) - Janice Hu is a sophomore hailing from good ole’ South Carolina. While she has no idea what she wants to do for a career, she has finally declared a Public Policy major with an Economics minor and Markets and Management certificate. In addition to singing in SBSB, she is also a member of Intervarsity, Duke Microfinance Leadership Initiative, and is a FAC. Her favorite things include the coffee of the day at Alpine Bagels, anything sweet, polkadots, people watching, and warm weather. She has loved her time at Duke so far, and she is excited to grow more in Christ in the coming years. Favorite verses (of the day): Phillipians 2:1-4.


Marilyn Lapu ('14) - Marilyn Lapu is an alto in the Trinity class of 2014. She is considering possibly being pre-med and majoring in psychology. Originally from Brussels, Belgium, she has lived in Atlanta, GA for 12 years now. She is a member of the Duke Catholic Center and loved going on the Awakening retreat in fall 2010. Besides singing, Marilyn also enjoys watching movies (especially romantic comedies), listening to music (no country whatsoever!), eating, reading, and popping bubble-wrap.

Matthew Boyle ('11) - Matt Boyle is a Trinity senior majoring in Sociology with a certificate in Markets and Management and a minor in English. In addition to managing Borrowed and Blue, he is a member of Campus Crusade for Christ, though he also attends Intervarsity when he has time. His poetry has been published in the Duke Archive Magazine, and he has recently joined the Duke Consulting Club. He loves music of all kinds, but most especially Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson and Wicked (the musical.) An avid weightlifter, Matt has also recently taken up swimming. He is known to talk a lot, and his dance to Miley Cyrus' "See You Again" is legendary. He has aspirations of winning the Amazing Race one day. Matt currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, though he has also lived in Massachusetts, California, Kentucky and Georgia, and his Dad lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.


Colin Adams ('12) - "My name is Colin Adams. I'm a junior at Duke,and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a member of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), and sing tenor in SBSB. My favorite type of music (not surprisingly) is worship and Christian music (I lead worship for SBSB, too). Other than that, I like 80's oldies... Eagles, Beatles, Elton John, REM, Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Sade, Billy Joel,... the list goes on. I've been a Christian since age 8, but am always glad to be growing in my faith and service to the Lord. I'm originally from Spring, Texas, a suburb of Houston, but am totally loving the cool weather in Durham! A fun fact about me? No, I can't say the alphabet backwards, but I can name pi to 15 decimal places... ask me sometime... I'll let my geekiness show!"


Zack Hopping ('14) - Zack is a freshman tenor from Okemos, Michigan. He also plays violin, viola, guitar, and drums and enjoy an eclectic mix of musical genres. His hobbies include competitive video gaming, sports, and cooking.

Basses


Matt Lundberg ('11) - Matt is currently a senior majoring in English and Psychology. In addition to singing in SBSB, he sings in choir at FBC Durham. When not at school he lives in Houston, TX.


Robert Kollenberg ('12) - Robert Kollenberg is a manly bass in SBSB and is possibly Pub Pol major. Besides SBSB, he is part of Duke's new parkour club. He was raised Catholic, but is now Protestant, and his favorite verse is Psalm 3:5-6.


Phil Lin ('12) - "I'm Phil, and I'm currently studying Biomedical Engineering and English. I'm still not sure what I want to do in the future, but I know God has given me creative talents to help others in whatever capacity fits me best. I love to express myself in as many ways as possible through music, dance, and writing, and I'm always trying to learn new things. Ask me about anything and everything, I'd be more than happy to talk!"


Andrew Wong ('12) - Andrew Wong is a junior who is interested in pursuing a major in biomedical engineering. He enjoys playing violin and piano and singing, as well as running and simply spending time with friends. However, above all, he gives thanks to God for giving him the ability to do all that he does in life.


Justin Yi ('12) - Justin Yi is a formidable (yet fluffy) Korean man with an average range for a bass. Throughout his journey through life he has attained nicknames such as the "Darth Saxophoner," "Chewbacca," and his personal favorite, the "Woolymammoth." He is currently in a relationship with the musical director Andrew Wong (a roommate relationship). When he isn't out conquering small countries, he likes to spend his time with Duke InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and reading a prolific amount of manga (Japanese comics). He also likes to draw, especially portrait drawings of his friends. His favorite bible passage is 2 Corinthians 12, the vision of Paul's thorn in his side.
