BSA ANNOUNCEMENTS

What: Freshmen Dorm Liasions Who: Iyanna Atwell and Cadene Russell When: TBA Where: TBA Why: We are looking for first year students that want to participate in activities with BSA and their respective dorms. If anyone is interested, please email Iyanna and/or Cadene for further information and with your dorm



BSA Updates

Who: Duke BSA outreach What: Park Clean-up we need people to work half hour to hour shift at the park Where: Crest St. Park Located right behind the VA hospital. If you want to drive on your own. Directions:Take Erwin all the way to Fulton Ave. Turn right on to Fulton Ave. Make a left onto Shirley (Should be the first street you come to) Turn right onto Crest St. and Park by the rec center Visit map.duke.edu and search for VA hospital, the park is directly behind there off Fulton Ave. Transportation will be provided from West Campus Bus stop every half an hour from 2-4pm When: October 14, 2006 2-5pm Why: This is a great and historical neighborhood right next door to Duke and this is a good way to establish a strong connection to a well-established community.

What's Happening?

WHO: VOICES THE MAGAZINE WHAT: VOICES, an opinion magazine published by the Duke University Women's Center, is accepting submissions for its Spring 2007 edition. We accept essays, short stories, spoken word, poems, photographs, artwork, and other creative work. All gender-related submissions are welcome. To attest to the success of this project, I would like to let you know that in the past students who have included their resumes in this book have gotten job offers. Please Include the following: 1. Your resume 2. A Headshot Photo (jpeg format) 3. Concise Bio which includes: Name, Class Year, Name of Student Group (e.g. Mi Gente), Mayor, Area of Interest Where to go if you think your resume is not ready? Who: Are you a sophmore interested in pursuing a career in finance? What:Consider applying for Credit Suisse's Douglas L. Paul Scholarship for Achievement Program. The $5,000 scholarship is for students of African, Latino and Native American descent who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and an interest in finance. Winners of the award will also have the opportunity to participate in our 10-week rotational program the summer of 2007. While in this program, they will have the opportunity to rotate through our Investment Banking, Fixed Income, and Equities divisions. Shonda Rhimes is a versatile writer, who had already achieved a significant level of success before the show was conceived. Most notably, Rhimes wrote the screenplay for the HBO biopic "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
