Outreach at CLACS plans and carries out biannual teacher conferences for K-16 teachers from all over North Carolina to share ideas on how to teach about Latin America and the Caribbean. Many new immigrants in North Carolina come from Latin America, so it is increasingly important for teachers and students alike to learn about this region. Workshops provide opportunities for teachers to learn about the countries from which many of their students come, share resources for teaching about these regions, and integrate new material on Latin America and the Caribbean into their classrooms. Teachers who attend workshops will earn CEU credit.
