ATCC is a global bioscience organization that provides biological products, technical services, and educational programs to private industry, government, and academic organizations around theworld. The mission of the ATCC is to acquire, authenticate, and maintain reference cultures, related biological materials, and associated data, and to distribute these to qualified scientists in government, industry, and education.

B

BIOSCI/bionet Home Page
BIOSCI is a set of electronic communication forums - the bionet USENET newsgroups and parallel e-mail lists - used bybiological scientists worldwide. No fees are charged for the service. BIOSCI is currently supported in the U.S. by a grantfrom DOE with equipment from NSF. The U.K. BIOSCI node is supported by the Daresbury Laboratory.

Codon Usage Database CUTG (Codon Usage Tabulated from GenBank) is a database of preferred codon usage of each organism based on the sequences from GenBank.

CeneCrunch Yeast Genome Analysis on a Silicon Graphics Supercomputer; Computation runs: March 4-7, 1996. The yeast genome sequence will be completed and released later in 1996 as a result of an international collaboration with teams from the European Union, North America and Japan. In this demonstration project we used 6613 proteins extracted from the yeast sequences currently in the public databases. Here you find the automatic analysis of these protein sequences performed in 72 hours by GeneQuiz on a SiliconGraphics POWER CHALLENGEarray.

SGD Saccharomyces Genome Database. SGD project collects information for and maintains a database of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, commonly known as baker's or budding yeast. This database includes a variety of genomic and biological information.

SWISS-PROT an annotated protein sequence database at ExPASy.

Swiss-Quiz
The principle of the Swiss-Quiz is to answer to 10 questions chosen randomly among a growing
database of questions relative to the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics. For
each question three possible answers are given of which only one is correct. Once you have
answered the questions and submitted the quiz, the program will display the correct answers
along with your score. If you obtain a perfect score (and it is not easy !), you will be prompted to
enter your name, email address and address. Each month, we will randomly pick up two persons
among all those that have obtained a perfect score and will send these persons some delicious
Swiss chocolate!
