| The Program in Chinese Media and Communication
Studies at Duke University promotes
interdisciplinary and collaborative research into the relationship
between media and public policy, media and democracy, and press freedom
in China, and sponsors media fellows program for visiting Chinese
journalists and an executive training program for Chinese media executives.
It fosters faculty collaborations and exchanges with China’s
government, media outlets, and major research institutions. The program
advances the Duke tradition of studying the media in countries and
societies in transition with expanding press freedom, and partakes
the broader efforts of Duke University to build relationships and
to establish programs and partnerships with universities and public
policy institutions in China. |

The program sponsors visiting scholars, and media fellows from China
for Communications and Journalism, and conduct
workshops, symposiums and seminars in the related areas.
