Chinese New Year performance tickets & Membership renewal

Dear DCSSA members and all friends,

As part of our 2005 Chinese New Year celebration series, DCSSA co-sponsors the 2005 Triangle area Chinese New Year performance on Sunday, Feb 13th, 3:00pm-5:00pm, in Duke Page auditorium. The celebration will be the largest ever, with many important guests invited to join us. Artists from Duke and the Triangle area Chinese communities will dedicate 16 pieces of Chinese-featured performances, including Chinese opera, folk dance, ballet, comic dialogue and chorus.

DCSSA will launch the on-campus tickets distribution along with membership renewal on Jan 28th 12:00-2:00pm outside of Bryan center and on Feb 4th all day on the first floor (the post office floor).
Ticket prices: $5 for Duke students and staffs (with valid Duke ID), $4 for child tickets (limited number of child tickets are available, please come early if you need one)
Maximum two tickets per ID (child ticket excluded) to encourage a broad accessibility
Beautiful gifts will be sent to the first 50 on-site purchases (i.e. first 50 IDs, not tickets sold) from DCSSA as a “happy new year” felicitates.
If, in case, you can’t make either of the time to purchase on-site, please email Li Yi at li.yi@duke.edu to arrange an off-site pick up.

Membership renewal: DCSSA membership is valid upon annual renewal. We have our new 2005 cards designed which will be valid through Feb 2005 to Feb 2006.
For old members with membership cards: please come on-site to submit your old card and receive a new one
For new members and those lost their old cards: please come on-site to register/re-register with us and receive your membership card for free.
If you can’t make either of the time, you will have a second chance to do it during our New Year’s eve get together party on Feb 8th.

Besides the performance, we will have a Chinese cultural decoration exhibition in Bryan center on Feb 4th and a New Year’s eve get together party in Blue express (LSRC dinning hall) on Feb 8th night.
