TYLER
WALTERS, Assistant Professor of the Practice of Dance was
a leading dancer for the Joffrey Ballet for more than a decade
and has been featured in performances around the world. Tyler
has danced a wide range of roles that spans the breadth of the
Joffrey¹s eclectic repertoire. He has appeared on international
television and on the "Dance in America" series for public television.
He has been a Principal guest Artist with Pennsylvania Ballet
and the National Ballet of Iceland among others. Tyler has been
a guest teacher for numerous professional training programs and
companies across the country including the Joffrey Ballet, the
Julliard School, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Regional
Dance America. He is currently teaching associate for the Carolina
Ballet. Tyler received a 2000 Choo-San Goh Award for the choreography
for a ballet created on Carolina Ballet. Other choreographic commissions
include works for Oregon Ballet Theater, ABT Studio Company, and
the Joffrey Concert Dancers. Tyler is co-director of Duke Ballet
Repertory Ensemble.
