Research Focus:

The goal of our research is to improve the care of patients with malignant brain tumors. Our first aim is to use magnetic resonance imaging and other techniques to better understand how malignant brain tumors recur and spread. We are currently studying whether perfusion and diffusion techniques can provide information that allow earlier predication of locations where tumor will recur or of locations to which recurrent tumor will spread. We are also interested in using these techniques to develop surrogate markers to assess treatment response. The goal of this effort would be to allow earlier detection of treatment successes and failures, and also to provide quantitative methods that would allow comparison of treatments.
