Current Status: Instructors and Students interested in integrating video equipment into class projects, assignments, or activities can borrow digital video equipment kits for up to two weeks for use in academic projects.
Instructor equipment request
Instructors who wish to integrate student course video projects into an undergraduate course or academic project should fill out the application for formal course/project support on the CITs webpage. Submissions will be evaluated based on the order received, equipment availability, and the educational objectives and specific uses proposed. Requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance of the proposed start date for the project.
Student equipment request
(request form available August 27, 2007) Students who wish to borrow a digital video kit for up to two weeks for undergraduate coursework or an undergraduate academic project will submit a request. Requests will be evaluated based on the order received and equipment availability. Priority goes to students who are in an academic course or project whose instructor has been granted formal DDI support. Requests must be submitted at least 1 full week in advance of the needed date.

Equipment provided
Eligible participants will have access to digital video kits with the following equipment. These kits will circulate as a unit on a two-week loan basis; individual pieces of equipment (e.g. wireless microphone) will not be available except as part of a kit.
* miniDV digital video camcorder
* wireless microphone
* external hard drive
* tripod
* firewire cables
Participant responsibilities
Instructors are responsible for organizing curricular and project assignments to coordinate with the two week loan time period for the digital video equipment. Instructors are also responsible for scheduling training and for completing DDI evaluation surveys at the end of the term.
The equipment borrower is financially responsible if any components of the digital video kit are lost, stolen, or damaged. The borrower is responsible for returning the equipment on or before the return date, or late fees will be charged to the borrower's bursar account.
