The Dreamer Examines His Pillow
The Duke University Department of Theater Studies will present The Dreamer Examines His Pillow by John Patrick Shanley. Duke student Rob Baird will direct the philosophic dream-comedy about love, art and life as his senior distinction project.The Dreamer Examines His Pillow will play in Sheafer Theater on Duke’s West Campus Feb. 7-9 at 8 pm and Feb. 10 at 2 pm. Admission is free.
“I wanted to challenge myself to direct something that would be a change from my past projects, which have been mostly comedies,” says Baird. “I wanted the opportunity to try my hand at something more serious and demanding. Directing this play has been a chance for me to integrate and display what I've learned in my time at Duke. It allows me to take directing and acting techniques and apply them to something outside the classroom setting.”
