2008 Duke in London Drama Program
June 28 - August 9, 2008

The Duke in London Drama Program is an intensive six-week experience designed for any student with a lively interest in theater. The program awards two course credits in either Theater Studies or English, and the courses fulfill a Theater Studies major requirement and count toward the English major.

Students see and study over two dozen plays
§ In 2007, students saw 27 plays including

Students have classes and workshops with some of the best theater practitioners
§ In 2007 students studied with distinguished British actors Jonathan Cullen, William Houston and Samuel West; Tony-nominated musical theater star Gavin Creel and musical director Michael England; and director Marianne Elliott. Students had backstage tours of the Royal National Theater and the Royal Opera House

In addition to daily two hour class, students enjoy excursions to famous theaters and historical sites outside London
§ In 2007 students went to Chichester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Hatfield House and Hampton Court Palace.

Students are housed in single rooms in Langton Close Residence Hall of University College, London
§ The residence hall is centrally located near Russell Square and King’s Cross. The rooms are arranged in suites of six rooms, bathrooms and a large communal kitchen for those who want to cook and eat in the residence hall.

More detailed information on fees will be available in late October.
Deadline for application February 9, 2008. There is a rolling admissions process and applications are processed within a few days of their submission.
