During the fall of 2004 DULUG was still on its sluggish recovery from it long state of hibernation. But, DULUG, with the help of other members of the TriLUG, made an extraordinary effort to carryout Duke’s Fall 2004 Installfest. The event was a success not only for the large number of people that attended, but also for the fertile intellectual environment it generated, both achivements exceeded everyone’s expectations. After a long day of helping fellow Linux users, and serving as a bright white light in the vast dark sea of mediocre operating systems to several stray wanderers, DULUG member rejoiced in knowing that they had upheld their ideals.
