INITIATIVES DUSDAC Annual Report At the end of the 2002 -2003 academic year, DUSDAC compiled its first annual report. This comprehensive report includes committee information, by-laws, collection of meeting agendas and minutes, individual eatery analyses and updates, and position summaries and reflections. The document below contains excerpts from DUSDAC's annual report. It will give you an idea of what our committee targets and what it has accomplished. 2002 - 2003 DUSDAC Annual Report (02-03report.pdf
589 KB) For the past two years, DUSDAC has given out a "Vendor of the Year" Award to the on-campus eatery with the highest score in the Merchant Evaluation Program (MEP). The MEP is a survey-based feedback mechanism allowing students to rate each of the on-campus eateries on overall food and service quality. The purpose of this program is to reward excellence in dining in addition to identifying locations that may require improvements. The result of the MEP Program is a “People’s Choice” for “Best On-Campus Eatery.” DUSDAC will continue to work with all vendors, assisting those with high scores to maintain customer satisfaction and helping those with low scores to make meaningful, well-received changes. 2002 - 2003 Results The MEP Program was administered entirely by members of DUSDAC. Respondents were asked to rate each of the 21 on-campus eateries on a scale from 1 to 10 (with 1 being low and 10 being high), with regard to their overall quality of experience. Respondents wrote in their numerical scores (rather than circling them or bubbling them in). All non-integer scores were rounded to the closest integer. In all, 321 surveys were successfully completed. Sanford Deli has topped the list two years in a row.
In recent years, DUSDAC has recognized one manager of an on-campus eatery that has stood out among all others as being exceptional. This manager is very open to DUSDAC's suggestions, implements recommendations quickly, and is easy to work with. For the 2002 - 2003 year, Steve Lewis of the Great Hall has been chosen as the manager of the year. This is Steve's second year winning this award. Starting in the 2003 - 2004 year, one DUSDAC committee member will be awarded the Joe "Piet" Award, in honor of Joe Pietrantoni, former associate vice-president of Auxiliary Services and founder of DUSDAC. The award, in the form of a scholarship, will be given to the committee member that has shown outstanding work in his or her position. |
