AT LAST
AT LAST was formed
in early 2000 after an extensive nationwide search. The latest incarnation
features three original members (Justin Fong, JP Leynes, Ken Ycmat),
and two new members (Mike Lee, Hans Cho). One of the goals of forming
AT LAST was to help to unity the many diverse cultures of Asian Americans.
The members are very proud of their Asian American heritage, and all
are bilingual. Their ethnic backgrounds include Chinese, Filipino, Korean,
and Japanese.
The response to the group
and their music has been overwhelming, and they continue to win over
audiences, young and old, across the country and abroad. In the short
time that the group has been together, AT LAST has been featured on
ABC, CBS, and NBC new in Los Angeles, and has performed on noted shows
such as "It's Showtime At the Apollo" and Ed McMahon's Star
Search follow-up, "Next Big Star." In addition, the group
has had the honor of singing "Star-Spangled Banner" &
"America the Beautiful" for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los
Angeles Dodgers, and the 17th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
The group's sound is rooted
in rock/r&b/pop with a little bit of funk and hip-hop. They also
infuse Asian-flavored sounds such as taiko drums and the erhu to create
a new brand of pop music. All of the songs are written, composed, and
arranged by the members of AT LAST.

There have been many
assumptions made about the band's name
AT LAST. But the name is taken from Dr. Marin Luther King's
famous proclamation, "Free at last!"
