The Mary Morrow-Edna Richards Scholarship

Each year, the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) awards several scholarships from their Mary Morrow-Edna Richards Scholarship Trust Fund to deserving prospective teachers. The amount of the scholarship is at least $1,000. For 2003, NCAE awarded 3 scholarships.

Applicants must be North Carolina residents enrolled in a teacher education program. They must be in the junior year of college and willing to teach in the public schools of North Carolina for at least 2 years following graduation.

The criteria for selection includes financial need, character, personality, scholastic achievement, and evidence of promise as a successful teacher in North Carolina.
