The North Carolina Council for the Social Studies Student Teacher Scholarship

The North Carolina Council for the Social Studies announces its Student Teacher Scholarship which will be presented at the annual State Social Studies conference. The scholarship is for $1,000 and is awarded annually to a college or university student leading to teacher certification in social studies.

The criteria for this scholarship follows:

1. The applicant, if preparing for middle/secondary teacher certification, must have a concentration in social studies; or if preparing for elementary teacher certification, must have completed or be scheduled for at least 18 semester hours in the social sciences by the time of student teaching.
2. The student must be enrolled in a student teaching program for the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
