General Information

In January 2008, the North Carolina State Board of Education eliminated the technology portfolio as a separate requirement for preservice teachers. The use of technology must now be embedded throughout a candidate’s coursework.

Duke University Teacher Preparation Programs provide candidates with a variety of opportunities to display proficiency in technology and is aligned with the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS)  identified by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
