SSC's CLEANER BUS CAMPAIGN
Over 90% of the buses in the US run on diesel--the one of the most dangerous and harmful fuels. Does your campus run shuttle buses? Do you have friends in high school who ride the buses to school? Are you tired of dirty diesel polluting the air you breathe, or do you just want to learn more about the effects of diesel exhaust on human health, the economy and global warming? If so, check out the SSC's Cleaner Bus Campaign packet http://www.ssc.org/pdf/bus_campaignpacket.pdf or visit http://www.ssc.org/index.php?page=energy/index.php for more information.
SSC ENERGY
Interested in leading the national movement for cleaner energy? SSC Energy is developing a program to empower students to voice their demands for a cleaner, healthier, energy-independent future. If you would like to get involved in developing this campaign, contact Amir at amir.nadav@ssc.org indicating your particular area of interest in energy issues, and a brief description of your experience with campaign work.

GREENHOUSE GAS INVENTORIES
The Northeast regional non-profit organization Clean Air-Cool Planet distributes a Campus Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory tool (in MS Excel 2000) that makes it easy to conduct an inventory at your school. The first generation tool was used at nearly 20 schools in the region since 2001, including UNH, UVM, and Middlebury College; the newly-released version is even easier to use and has better built-in analysis capability to easily turn the raw data you collect into charts and graphs for compelling presentations to your school's administrators and the campus community. An inventory is the first step of the five-step partnership process if your school partners with CA-CP; it’s also available free of charge as a means of getting things moving in that direction! An inventory makes a great summer internship project and they’ve also been done as coursework at several schools, including Colby and Wellesley Colleges.
