Disability Management System
The Disability Management System provides a central clearinghouse of disability-related information and services at Duke University and Duke Health System.
Mary Thomas is the Director of the Duke University Disability Management System a central clearinghouse on disability-related information, procedures and services for Duke University and Health System. She is responsible for University/Health System implementation of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Department of Justice Settlement Agreement.
Prior to coming to Duke, she was ADA Coordinator for Penn State University, and project director of the Pennsylvania ADA Coalition, a statewide grass roots initiative providing locally based technical assistance and training targeting business and industry, government, and institutions of higher education. She is past coordinator for two community-based psychiatric partial hospitalization programs in rural Pennsylvania.
Mary holds a Bachelors Degree in Recreation Therapy from Penn State University and a Masters Degree in Adult and Community Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
