Tavey McDaniel Capps, Environmental Sustainability Coordinator
Tavey McDaniel Capps became the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator in September 2006 after working with Duke sustainability programs as Outreach and Communications Coordinator.
Tavey
is responsble for developing a long-term sustainability plan for the University. Additionally she facilitates faculty, staff and student initiatives aimed at reducing Duke's environmental impact.
Current projects include a campus-wide sustainability assessment, green dining, an expanded recycling program and a new campus energy policy.
Tavey brings seven years of experience in the environmental field with four of those years focused on sustainability in higher education at NC State and UNC Greensboro. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1999 with a BA in Environmental Policy.
